Seun Kuti
Last born son the legendary Musician and Cultural leader Fela Kuti… I have recently been inspired by his unapologetic way of staying true…to his group. Beyond his music there are many things that resonate with me about this Grammy nominated …. humanitarian icon and social activist…. He even inspired me to start making people pronounce my name properly… “Seun” as opposed to “Sean”… a subject I’ll comeback to in a future post… This is one of many interviews he does around the world but it’ll give you a taste of the “Seun”. My namesake… and I’m sure …one day I’ll get to make a portrait with him as we have a conversation about the “Afristocracy” project I am currently launching…as a way to use narrative storytelling and consciousness as a core principle of a multi-platform focal point for intellectual, collaborative and philosophical. To celebrate African true artists who are reckoning and promoting the collective creative awakening spirit, happening around the world. Its time to start venturing outside our comfort zones and try feeding our minds with something… that contributes to a growing struggle for freedoms slowly being eroded, starting from the inside… The creative mindset is the most targeted aspect of our humanity. The “brain draining’ culture is threatening to unseat the soul from mankind… disconnecting and dividing… People like Seun Kuti will resonate with anyone who is tried of being marginalized. Africans in the diaspora feeling homesick… will instantly feel again… Seun reminds you of who you really are… by demonstrating who he really is…
