livecr8.tv -“live creative” is a resource dedicated to all things relative to a creative lifestyle or more specifically way of life. With more and more people finding that the current paradigm and its cultural appetites are becoming less desirable, the cubicle as a workspace is resembling a kind of mental prison cell more and more… People are feeling trapped and unfullfilled obviously this doesn’t apply to everyone, there is a minority of the priveiledged who have as their “birthright” a better lifestyle and this includes the kind of spaces they occupy both at home and work.
Creativety as expressed by artistic / craft type carreers which are appearing very appealing, due to the freedom and self expression they promote. In the past many creatives occupations were percieved as “deadends” and not particularly lucrative so therfore unpopular. Instead people saw jobs like “banking” and “finance” as the places tio be if you wanted to get ahead.
Afterall, “getting ahead’ of the next man was the aim of the game. In my lifetime I have seen thaat industry go from being the absolute “top of the pile” the “creme de la creme” of carrers and lifestyles to being reviled and perseved as the causes of our most recent economic crisis. Greed within these cold and souless industries, were seen as the representation of a paracitic entity, leeching our world of all that was once peacful, beautiful and balanced… and most of all….
abundant.
Live Creative - the name Live Cr8.tv is refering to "live" as in "you live a life". However, it has the douible meaning where "live" refers to doing somoething "live" as in "real time", this wasn'tintentional at first but once i relaised that it caould be viewed both ways I was a blown away since its original purpose was as a youtube channel dedicated to living creatively. Videos that celbrate all things creative, lifehacks, creative skills, photography as a way of liofe, artistic approaches some of lifes challenges. The channel would be idel for anyone who is thinking of, or has just embarked on a new creative carreer involving a shift in lifesstyle and tihinking.
There are many ideas that creatives employ in their everyday lives that are integral to their daily lives and productivity. Things like "home studios" or "darkrooms" have been incorporated into ordinary homes , that essentially turn a living space into a work space and vice versa. Living as a creative requires some adjustments in thinking about space and how it is used. Other considerations are things like "time" and how its allocated.
For me it is important to be able to get ideas from my mind into thhe physical space. To make this as seemless as possible i have whiteboards and whiteboard marker evrywhere. i also use my windows and mirrors as impromtu blackboards. As soon as an idea comes no matter what room I'm in there's a surface i can jot things down on. I also make use of "post- its' in much the same way.
Combining these analogue methods of note taking or brainstorming, with digital requires a combo of hardware and software to bring reality and virtual reality together...
other creatives who work from their homes or on the go have a miriad of other techniques that they incorporate into their 'workflow" to make life more streemlined
