Untitled...

This is unedited at this point. All the effects are achieved through lighting, gels and my secret weapon the "saberstrip". Most importantly planning ahead of time was actually what made the difference... This might be a useful read for anyone who's just getting into off camera flash and studio lighting...

The workflow is applicable to any genre of creative endeavour as far as planning and prep goes...

Runaway Bride...

July 13, 2018

The steps leading to shoot day

Runaway Bride - looking back through my journal this was my favorite location shoot from last year. I was surprised to find some notes I had made while brainstorming.  The mental process which brought me to the final idea... which led to the running shot.  It's funny because I go on about how "I don't do weddings". This isn't technically a wedding as its a shoot for a  "wedding dress designer" so no actual wedding required... That said, it was one of the most challenging for me to tackle since it was out of my comfort zone.  I had to go back to basics for this and take it step by step....

Starting with

prep...

went to the location a week before to scout and made some notes using the images I shot. This gave me a good idea of where I wanted to be and when on the day of the shoot...
