looks like Bond Street is really coming into its own. Finally the soul is revealing itself... Festivals are charged with soul, good vibes and plenty of opportunity for us to show our potential.
Journal Entry
This morning I woke up to music, live music! I had completely forgotten about the festival... This year we have alot of activities on Bond Street. I opened the balcony and stepped out and sure enough...
t O B S is coming alive as people dance their way along the meandering wooden decking mimicking the river's own natural rhythm. Visually expressed by carving the banks to create a physical shape depicting the path of the flow.
Seeing things from up here allows you to imagine from a more holistic perspective... It's a great way to wake up, get the brain started and straight into storytelling mode...
Feeling positive and looking forward to... Whatever happens today... No judgement... Just go with the flo!
Directly Outside the entrance to the Hub, Bond Street...
River dance! That's what came to mind when I stepped out of the front door and saw this. The Festival was underway. TBH I don't know much about any of this so this is not intended as a qualitative resource by any means. Think of it more as just an exploration... It's all new to me. In fact it's all new to all of us. We've never done the festival in this way on Bond Street. It's an opportunity just to take it all in and chill. Try and make some cool "flicks" to share...
People Watching
Aside from the performances themselves, I find it just as interesting, if not more so, to watch, mingle with and make fotos. Whether candid street photography or street portraits, it really depends on circumstances. I know many street photographers who like to "blend" into the background, sometimes going as far as to find sneaky ways to make images without the subjects being aware. This is definitely not me! I like to make myself known. I like people to be aware of my intentions. With events like this where there are lots of people weilding cameras and I phones so it's no surprise that most people just forget about your presence and just get on with it... This creates a perfect atmosphere to get the most out of the situation...
